Position: Material Handler
Location: Otay Mesa, CA
Reports to: Distribution Center Supervisor
Status: Non-exempt
Job Summary: Energetic individuals needed to receive, put away, pick, pack and ship product from a finished good distribution center. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and certified to operate lift trucks.
Essential Functions:
- Receive and properly document vendor and carrier deliveries
- Count & verify deliveries
- Perform entries into the ERP system to properly reflect deliveries
- Keep facility clean
- Insure that inventory is properly checked and labeled prior to stocking
- Insure that bin location criteria is updated upon stocking
- Pick, pack and ship sales orders and stock transfers
- Perform entries into the ERP system to properly reflect shipments
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Maintain maintenance logs for forklifts
- Participate in 5S initiatives; follow 5S procedures
- Follow safety procedures
Physical Demands:
- Required repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, and move about the entire facility.
Qualifications:
- At least one-year recent relevant experience
- Forklift certification
- SAP experience highly desirable
- High school diploma or equivalent desirable
- Good communication skills
- Good counting skills
